Who We Are
Building a Global Family through love
Global Mission Awareness is a family of families passionate about the pursuit and expansion of The Kingdom. Our mission is to bring light to the darkest of places. We touch lives and transform nations with love as a Kingdom Family Movement. The mandate of Global Mission Awareness is to connect the Church in the U.S.A. with the Church around the world, with the Gospel for every person, and a Church for every people group.
GMA’s vision for this mission and mandate encompasses three elements:
GMA is cultivating a Kingdom Family Love Movement that reflects the family culture of heaven and embraces the spirit of adoption. As we partner with Heaven’s blueprint, we are believing for mothers and fathers, sons and daughters to be reconciled in love. (Luke 15; Matthew 3:16-17)
There’s a new missions movement being awakened to reach the unreached: the least, last, and lost. As a mission movement, we seek to empower local leaders and other Kingdom movements to raise up a new breed of missionaries who walk in the same power that raised Jesus from the dead. (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:18-20)
This generation is hungry for a reconciliation and transformation movement that presents divine wisdom and strategies to bring wholeness, breakthrough, and creative solutions. As we awaken a generation like that of Daniel, Nehemiah, and Esther, the impossible becomes possible. (Malachi 4:5-6; Isaiah 60, 2 Corinthians 5:20)
We become what we behold as sons and daughters. Verses: John 17:4 (lifestyle of glory), John 14:9 (if you’ve seen me/you’ve seen the father), John 17:26 (Father, I will declare your name, experiential prayer), John 3:16
We specialize in loving as he loves without any agenda. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7; 13:13, John 13:34, John 15:9, John 15:13
We make Jesus the anointed one, our focus, life and ministry. John 3:16, 2 Timothy 2:8 (Jesus the anointed one), Colossians 1:15-20 (Image of the invisible God)
We are created and wired for healthy Kingdom relationships. Ephesians 3:14-21, Matthew 6:9-13 (The Lord’s Prayer)
Leif Hetland is the President and founder of Global Mission Awareness. He is also a husband, father, author, and international speaker.
Leif is known for his transformative teachings on the love of God and his unique calling to Pakistan and the Middle East. He spends nearly half of his travel schedule teaching in first world countries raising up the mission force and spreading the “mission virus”.
The rest of his time is spent in second and third world countries bringing the light of Jesus to the mission field. Leif’s teachings and resources call sons and daughters out of orphan mentalities and into thinking like a kingdom family.
From this place of identity, sons and daughters are able to confidently pursue their destinies and become world-changers. These world-changers are equipped to bring the Kingdom of God to the mission field.
Jennifer Hetland is the Vice President and co-founder of Global Mission Awareness. She is a mother of four, author, and international speaker. Jennifer’s greatest calling has been to be a wife and mother.

She enjoys speaking at women’s events and especially loves encouraging new mothers. She is hilarious, authentic, and inspiring for all audiences.
